Cactus series are formal portraits of plants that I see as somber, elegant icons. Cacti are like little paradoxes. Forbidding, resilient and hostile, they guard their precious source, a soft and vulnerable inner self. They are small monuments to the deception of appearances and to the enduring will to survival.
